Building E-Da Hospital is a milestone in the history of Taiwan medical architecture. The construction of E-Da Hospital is able to compare with a five star hotel. There are masters’ sculptures, paintings and the lingering sound of the piano. Walking into E-Da Hospital, you would feel the atmosphere of unique art and humanities. Instead of the pungent odor of disinfectant, the aroma of coffee fills the hospital.

It completely changes the image of the traditional hospital because the hospital is a place not only for medical treatment but also for relaxation.I-Shou Lin, the founder of E-United Group, established I-Shou University and manufacturing businesses. He is well-known for making important contributions to the society. His great regret in life is that his mother did not get appropriate health care before she passed away. Moreover, he benefited from critical care and realized the public needs for medical services. He hoped to provide the public with better medical services. Therefore, he chose Northern Kaohsiung where lacked medical resources as the location for E-Da Hospital and eagerly pushed forth the establishment of E-Da Hospital. The Southern residents could acquire the same quality of medical services as Northern residents did.

E-Da Hospital launched its services on April 15, 2004. Hung-Chi Chen, the superintendent of E-Da Hospital, specializes in esophageal reconstruction. The attending doctors are mainly from medical centers. There are nearly 200 senior attending doctors at present. As a result of the devotion of the staff, E-Da Hospital passed the accreditation of Regional Teaching Hospital in August 2004. It would move toward offering the high quality medical services which is level with medical center in the future.

E-Da Hospital is service-oriented and has purchased many state-of –the-art devices. For example, E-Da Hospital is the first hospital owning PET/CT and is the only hospital which set up the Gamma Knife Center in Southern Taiwan. The most technologically advanced Linear Accelerator, 64-Slice CT and MRI provide customers with high quality medical services. In addition to the aforementioned devices, E-Da Hospital has the professional health care team and the strict administration and enables patient-centered care through healthcare. Consequently, E-Da Hospital is competent to achieve the goal of offering well-rounded care.
